Once selected in barrel, this reserve was aged in a high percentage of new oak that imparts balance and allows the wine to achieve full rounded character coupled with boldness. This wine achieved the standard to be labeled under our Reserve program that showcases the full potential of our vineyards.
With the grapes growing at 1000' elevation above the frost line, the location lends itself to producing high quality Petite Sirah grapes. This is a classy version of Petite Sirah with smooth, dense blackberry and cherry flavors. The increadible color and firm tannins confirm it is a petite Sirah. With its famous heartiness, this is the ultimate fancy burger or gourmet thin crust pizza wine!
Lemon-lime, pineapple, mango, key-lime pie with yummy crust. Full flavored and impeccably, elegantly, balanced amounts fo fruit, wood, and acidity. Dry, but very fruity finish.
Our Syrah is elegant, structured, and balanced. Rich boysenberry, blueberry, strawberry, black pepper and subtle hints of voilet with lush tannins. Finished rich and staisfying. Burgess Syrah is enchanting by iteslf or with food. This wine is our most versatile.
Malbec is a very versatile grape and can be used to blend, as found in many world class Bordeaux blends, or create interesting wines on its own. Our Malbec is a dark ruby/purple with an expressive aroma of cherry cider, passion fruit, chocolate, jasmine, and black tea. The flavors are bright, soft, mouth-filling, juicy, and fruity with blackberry, black currant, cherry, and blueberry.

Our 2011 Cabernet Franc is the one and only 100% Cabernet Franc we’ve ever crafted in forty-five years of Burgess Cellars winemaking history! The 2011 honored the final year of two old vine blocks of Cabernet Franc in our hillside Winery Ranch Vineyard, before we replanted these blocks. These grapevines were three decades old, and presented us in 2011 with small berries, concentrated in tannins and flavor, coveted qualities of old vine fruit. Today a visit to Burgess Cellars commences on our deck, overlooking these Cabernet Franc blocks, bearing young grapevines that just gave us their first harvest… the future of Cabernet Franc at Burgess Cellars.
